1975 CT90 "Trail 90"

The Trail 90 has been sold to another owner.   All I can do now is hope that it is taken care of like it should be.  Since selling it I have offered to purchase it back on multiple occasions, but with no luck.  Hopefully some day I'll get it back what a mistake to sell it... What a huge mistake.

Rides on the Ride

Me, Clance, and Cherie

Me and Rosie

Travis getting ready for a ride!

He's ready to ride.

Me and "Yankee"

Me and Mikayla

Me and Pacer

Hold on buddy boy!

Me Shawn and Sariah (the family ride)

Trett wants a ride too!

Suicide Shifter? Chrome fender? Headlight Visor? Mud Flap?

All of this stuff was unnecessary except the Suicide shifter. I tore some ligaments in my knee and had my left leg in a rigid brace. The brace would not let my knee bend, so I couldn't shift, hence I fabricated the shifter. I bought the steal at Lowes and the handle was a old Police night stick that I bought at a Army Navy store. I cut the handle of the night stick off, center drilled it and once it came together with a little paint it worked out perfect! When you ride a moped you almost have to be that devoted. As for the honda wing head light visor, mud flap and chrome fender they weren't that important but I thought they went well with the project,

Heat Shield and Springs

This is a brand new heat shield for the rear portion of the muffler, also new shocks.

Ram Air

Why I did it I don't know, but I think its funny. I re-positioned the carburetor for a ram air effect.
The new placement I also polished the carb. It needs the heat shield for the muffler, you can see where my pants have gotten melted not good.

Tool Bag

So I went to the Honda dealer today to get a fork bag and they wanted over $80, so I went down the street to the Harley dealer where they had them for $25.

Aux Tank, Seat and Sprocket

Posing with the ride, hoping for a ride.

6 months after the motor change the transmission developed a false neutral and it would have been more expensive to get that fixed then it would to get another motor. So, I got another 125cc, but this one had been bored out to a 143cc and has some more umph and a different shifting pattern known to eliminate the previous condition. Note I also found a buddy seat for the rear rack that matches the other seat, and a new smaller rear sprocket for higher speeds.

Wiring the New 12 volt AC Gen into a 6 volt system

Here's the old wiring diagram.

Here's the changes to convert the 12volts through the voltage rectifier down to 6 volts.
The new engine is also a cdi engine so there's that too, fun.
Different but it worked some how?

Motor Change!

Once again E bay delivers! I found a chromed out 125cc motor on E bay and placed a bid and got it! So now I need to figure out how to get this guy to work. You can also see the stator plug with the blue heat shrink that I repaired in a earlier post.

Side by side the look similar, but don't be fooled some fabrication is in order to get this guy to work... more to come!

Registration

Another obstacle was the problem of not having the title for the bike, so I ended up having to buy another frame with a valid title to swap everything over too, to register the bike.
One of the first problems that the 90 had other then reaching reasonable speeds was charging the Battery. So after tracing the wiring diagram I found a stator plug as shown above that had given up the ghost.
Hears the wiring diagram.
Here's the plug.

Soggy Bottom Boys!

The seat was horrible and little uncomfortable, but the worst part was when it rained! It would instantly become a huge sponge waiting to soak the next victim that sits down with it for the next few days.
As a solution I bought a cover on E bay, before I replaced the cover I cut out a thick garbage bag and placed it under the cover to help prevent embarrassment due to wet butt syndrome.

Coming together?

This was shortly after she was painted and street legal, and yes that's me, quite a pair.

Lights

I needed to get the 90 legal, so I bought a taillight assembly on E bay and put it on.

Going Green

I decided to paint the 90 a army style green.
I also made my own stencils to give it more of that Ol' army look
Well here she is all the green is done, but lots of work to go!
